Overcoming Shyness & Coping with Bullying Workshop is designed to help children aged 5 - 11 years old build their confidence and people skills through a set of activities: 1. Story telling and re-enactment The workshop programme is devised and led by Kidz4Mation, authors of a series of six childrens picture books which are highly commended by teachers and child psychologists. Each book teaches a different positive developmental lesson using fun animal characters including Mikey the Monkey. The set of the six books and activities are available for purchase at the end of the programme. Our students normally do not put these down once they have them! This is fantastic for their learning and growth, as it reinforces what we teach. Also, as you may do with their school work, you can play your part by reading the books with them and discussing the techniques and issues. There are also parents notes which you may find useful in this process. The books and themes are: Mikey Helps Toot-Toot - Positive Thinking Mikey Says 'I Can Do It' – Overcoming Limitations - believing 'I Can Do It' Mikey Aces His Test - Setting goals and peak performance Mikey Takes A Moment – Calming and relaxing children
1. The stories are narrated by the authors. A lot of interaction is involved with the children and the characters, to help the child relate well to the theme.
